I've come to realise lately I own way to many mascaras. In total I counted 1 un-open mascara and 10 used. Yes thats right. 10. Funny thing is, I don't even wear much mascara! I use it mainly on my lower lashes and a thin coat up top due to wearing falsies on a day to day basis. Ridiculous hey? To be fair, I did have more. I actually threw away 3 last month due to not being able to fit my new 'Benefit Roller Lash' in my 'reached' for mascara cup. So, I decided to go through my drawers and throw a bunch away that are well passed their used by date. Here it is,  my 'Mascara Empties'.
So because I'm just way to cool for school, I decided to break my Mascara Empties down in to two catergorieis , 'Plastic brisstles' and 'Brush wands'. Im not sure if that the right terms to use, but hey! I have no idea what their proper names are.

So First up is 'Plastic Brisstles'..

Not my favourite type of mascara brush, they are the most irritating to my eyes especially when Im trying to get right to the lashes. They are normally a lengthening product that can take a bit of a building, meaning if you go for too many coats your lashes can end up looking like a spidery mess. I didn't really get on with any of these mascaras, non stood out for me enough to use constantly. I mean, I gave them all a good go, but there was something about them I really didn't like. The 'Avon Mega Effects' was hard to get used too and became more a novelty than a convenience. I can honestly say I won't be repurchasing any of these in a hurry.

Ok next up is  'Brush Wands'

These are most defiantly my preferred bristle. So much smoother, normally a volumising formula its something you can't really go wrong with. The 'Tarte Lights Camera Lashes' mascara was amazing for definition and volume. It lasted well and made my lashes look long and thick! The 'Maybelline Mega Plush' I was so disappointed with. There was so much hype surrounded this product, I had a lot of high expectations and really wanted it to be my new staple. Unfortunately, there wasn't much right with it. The formula was pretty watery compared to what I'm used too and found it transferred under my eyes through out the day. The wand itself was sparse in places making it a lot harder to use than your normal bristle brush! That and the 'Rimmel Scandaleyes' are the two I wouldn't consider repurchasing.  Heres a video of me using the Tarte mascara  if you want to see it in action!

So there you have it. My Mascara Empties. I really need to get more in the habit of using up mascaras before buying new! Some of these where completely full and its such a waste. I think my biggest problem when buying mascara is the packaging! If its bright and looks good, I want it!

What are some of your favourite Mascaras?
